Reconciliation with Indigenous People in Action

The recent discovery of the remains of 215 school children on the grounds of a former residential school in Kamloops has shed light on a dark part of our history as Canadians and as a Church.

There is much work to do to bring about reconciliation and share the truth. For our parish we wish to take steps towards that truth and reconciliation. As one of the first steps, we will be hosting an online event. Reconciliation with Indigenous People in Action will take place Tuesday, June 29th at 7pm via Zoom.

Two of our own parishioners will lead us in an evening of deeper understanding and awareness of the cultures of the many Indigenous Peoples of our country and we will conclude with a time of prayer to remember those affected by the traumas of the residential school system and all those indigenous men, women and children who are still suffering from continued injustices.

We encourage everyone to sign up and register. It is important that we all do our part individually and as a parish to bring about reconciliation with the Indigenous of the land we all call home.
