Dear Families,

On Sunday, October 5th, 2025, the Gospel reminds us of Jesus’ teaching that even with little faith God can work through us to do great things. He challenges His disciples and us to allow God to work through us and help us to grow our faith.

This is a beautiful opportunity to reflect as a family on how we live and grow our faith. Take some time together to discuss what it means to have faith, and ways we can grow our faith in our daily lives.

Steps to complete the activity

Step 1: Read Together
  • Read the section “Faith the Size of a Mustard Seed” with your children.
  • Talk about what faith is, what a mustard seed is, and what Jesus wants us to learn about faith.
Step 2: Watch the Video 
  • Watch a kid-friendly video together about the mustard seed and the Gospel of Luke 17:5–10.
  • Discuss what you saw and how even small faith can make a difference.
Step 3: Family Activity – Mustard Seed Prayer Card
  • Follow the instructions to create your own prayer card
Step 4: Pray Together 
  • Use your prayer card in your family prayer time
Step 5: Bring It to Mass
  • Encourage your children to bring their prayer card to Mass with you on October 4th or 5th.
  • The cards will be blessed during the Mass as a reminder of the Gospel message
