Advent is the start of the church year. The word Advent comes from the Latin 'adventus,' which means 'coming' or 'arrival' to signify the birth of Jesus. Advent is a time for celebration; anticipating Christ's birth and looking forward to when Jesus will come again.
During Advent we are called to say extra prayers, be extra kinda to others and help those in need.
Advent lasts 4 weeks. Each Sunday of Advent we light a candle from the Advent wreath.
